Hi everybody,

I'm glad to see how much you enjoyed Slapbak when I made them come last time and that, just like me, we all can't wait to see them again.

As Funkygirl and Wonder B know today, we're gonna release their new album for the earliest possible... It was announced as "The Key" but Jara decided just recently to change the name, change some tracks and remaster it to please the most possible the european countries...

So you get the information in exclusivity, the next album coming is now named "Underground Mayhem"! And here is the picture of the cover of this album before anybody on this planet!!!!

Image

My plan is to get quick a distributor and try to get some good festivals this year for us to vibrate again...

Funkygirl, I come tonight at La Scène Bastille and will have maybe something to give you about them if you're there (Surprise!!!)... :sm98:

Wow, that's great! It has been soooo long without a single new from the band...
Ben & I will be around tonight too...

Is Verdine White still promoting this project? Several funkhomers are crazy enough to own Too Black for Black Radio and the Key... and probably Underground Mayhem (what does that mean?)

For Verdine white, I'm not sure, I didn't ask this information to Jara but he appears on the DVD promotionnal he sent me about this new album (Clip+itw). Great clip!

I asked him the same question about the meaning of this name that replace The Key name (both are the same album)...

We've seen some recent video stuff (from Myspace I guess), Slapbak's clips are great.
Wish they could be released someday, I would just love more than the outstanding Funkin' on the One...

That's right!
I was wondering if Jara was momentarily member of The Time at the end of the last decade...
I've found the info on a german site, that was mentionned in the document posted above...

Two new songs  on their myspace ( http://www.myspace.com/slapbak ) from their new album "Underground Mayhem" : Don't talk about it and Fanatic.
The second was already on the album "The Keys" but perhaps it's an another version. :?:

The Return of The Genius Family ?

Jara Harris is the founder, leader and heartbeat of Slapbak. A child prodigy, he started out bashin' drums at the tender age of four in the family's J Harris Band (started by his parents James and Joyce Harris for their children Jeff, James II, Jara, Julie and Janine)
http://www.slapbak.com/sbnew/jara.html

Sibling Rivalry is a family from the same mom and dad, naturally gifted as a self contained band. In 1972, James Sr and Joy Harris conceived the family band and bought five siblings rhythm instruments and encouraged them to rehearse a band like other family's making it show business. James, Jeffrey, Julie, Jerrold, and Janine, are another J5 as far as their names are concerned, ....The CD was recorded by family (under the name "J. Harris Band)......If you would like to hear more music written and recorded by the J. Harris Family AKA Sibling Rivalry....
http://www.myspace.com/siblingrivalry

Jara is the younger brother of [Jimi James] and a member of the The Four J / J. Harris Band, Slapbak and Sibling Rivalry.

Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
If you just watch the videos on that MySpace page... wowww... Jara & the boys at Playboy Mansion... way too funny.
You have to wait until one video ends and it mixes with the next one... just sit back & relax and enjoy a Playboy Mansion tour, as well as some live action from the band on stage, including seriously funky versions of some hits like Brick House, Ladies Night and the rest...

Great ! It's onEmusic !

But, most of the tracks are old ones :

1. Don't Talk About
2. The Key
3. Trip Dip
4. You Don't Get It
5. You Get In My Mind
6. Push & Shove
7. California Girls Dipped In Chocolate
8. I Will Not Fall
9. Low Rider
10. Complications
11. Fanatic
12. Break It Out
13. Too Much
14. Cold Blooded Filla
15. Down
16. We Aint Playin' Wit It
17. Run With Me

As the title of track n°10 "complications" could illustrate their way of distributing their production, I'll never understand their marketing strategy ! Is there one ?

It's almost becoming boring ! With all these same tracks available on multiple albums, even the fan becomes lost. :???:
